location quite good in the countryside. hotel seting was good.
upgrade to executive room was disapointing. wine provided was 2 small bottles of warm white with no means of chilling them.bed looked as though someone had been lying on it. dirt around the bath had not seen cleaning materials in a long while(until i cleaned it myself) we only stayed one night and our room was on the ground floor.at 7.15 am we were awoken by children in the room above screaming and jumping off the bed repeatedly unless they were playing with a ball. no adults voice heard checking them. after 45mins we complained to the hotel staff who then came to our room to report the family had been told of the complaint and were going for breakfast. why they needed to come to our room instead of phoning is beyond me. we had a meal on the night(fixed price)which was overpriced for the quality of the food. a bread bun given to us was stale.when we complained the waiter brought another just as stale bread.the service was terrible. later the fire alarm was activated which was a false alarm. apparently a notice in the room stated if using the shower keep the bathroom door closed as the staem can set off the fire alarm. faulty towers comes to mind and no we will not be staying there again. the sister hotel, longhirst in morpeth was very nice.

The change of name to the Tulip Inn on the new signage, this caused us some confusion as we had not visited before and were unaware of the change in the name,
